How Progression WorksYour chapters, collections, ranks and permanent achievements
Build your fleet each season, play Expeditions, and bring lasting achievements home. Each journey below has its own progress.
1. Map Fragments → Treasure Voyages → Chapters
Own a confirmed ship in an active season and play Captain’s Expedition. Each daily bounty banks one fragment: defeat 25 monsters, collect 8 treasures, or survive 2 minutes of combat. Progress can span multiple runs. Earn up to 3 fragments per UTC day; daily counters reset at 00:00 UTC, while banked fragments stay yours.
Combine 4 fragments into one map. A full daily bounty board gives three, so your first map needs fragments earned on at least two UTC days. Sail a two-minute Treasure Voyage: collect three seals, defeat the guardian, take the chest and escape south. Failure keeps your map for a free retry. One successful map awards one relic and advances your voyage count. Treasure Voyages do not earn Expedition leaderboard scores or daily bounty fragments.
Each chapter unlocks after the completed voyages shown below. Later chapters have tougher enemies. Chapter 10 unlocks at 25 completed voyages; reach 30 successful voyages for mastery, then keep sailing to finish your collection. From zero, mastery requires at least 40 distinct UTC earning days. You can save fragments and complete several maps later; there is no streak to maintain.
| Chapter | Completed Voyages | Title Earned |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Castaway Cay | Start here | Chart Apprentice |
| 2. Smuggler’s Shoal | 1 | Tide Seeker |
| 3. Coral Labyrinth | 2 | Reef Runner |
| 4. The Sunken Library | 4 | Relic Reader |
| 5. Widow’s Anchorage | 6 | Vault Breaker |
| 6. Stormglass Reach | 9 | Storm Chaser |
| 7. The Ghost Current | 12 | Phantom Navigator |
| 8. Leviathan’s Rest | 16 | Deepwater Legend |
| 9. The Gilded Abyss | 20 | Keeper of the Lost |
| 10. The Crown of Tides | 25 | Sovereign of the Seas |
| Mastery | 30 | All ten chapters mastered |
2. Relics → Discovery → Crafting
Collect 12 permanent relics: 6 Common, 4 Rare and 2 Legendary. Every completed map rolls one relic, with base rarity odds of 70% Common, 25% Rare and 5% Legendary. Every fifth chest guarantees a missing relic if one remains; the Chest Odds panel shows your adjusted chances.
Duplicates become salvage: 1 for Common, 3 for Rare or 8 for Legendary. Craft a chosen missing relic for 12, 24 or 60 salvage respectively. Equip a relic to display it in Captain’s Hall. Relics are cosmetic: they do not add season points, combat strength or token rewards.
Captain’s Island · Seasonal Podiums → Permanent Decorations
Finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd on the main season leaderboard. Once that season’s rewards are finalized, open your island and collect one decoration. Only seasons ending after the island feature was activated qualify; earlier medals do not award items. Expedition rankings do not count toward island rewards.
New rarity pools unlock as you collect qualifying podium treasures: Common at 1, Rare at 5, Epic at 12, Legendary at 24. Unlocking a tier makes its items possible rewards; it does not guarantee that rarity. Every fifth chest guarantees a missing unlocked decoration when one remains. Rewards & Odds shows the actual chances for each finishing place.
Your island has 16 spaces and 10 decoration types. Duplicate prizes provide extra placeable copies. Filling all spaces takes at least 16 podium finishes; discovering every type takes at least 25, and chance may make it longer. Decorations and your saved layout persist across seasons. Choose an item, select a space, then Save Layout.
Captain Ranks, Expedition Scores & Your Trophy Case
The Captain’s Log on the sea map levels up from your fleet’s monster kills in the current season. These ten ranks reset each season and are separate from Atlas chapters. Your lifetime fleet kills and gold, silver and bronze main-season medals remain in Captain’s Hall.
| Level | Rank | Season Fleet Kills |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Deckhand | 0 |
| 2 | Lookout | 400 |
| 3 | Seafarer | 6,500 |
| 4 | Buccaneer | 19,500 |
| 5 | Corsair | 36,500 |
| 6 | Marauder | 54,000 |
| 7 | Dread Captain | 72,000 |
| 8 | Admiral | 90,500 |
| 9 | Sea Sovereign | 109,300 |
| 10 | Ocean Legend | 128,500 |
Captain’s Expedition tracks your best score each season. Run upgrades last for that run. New runs allow eight upgrade choices across at most four power-up types; replay to try a different build and improve your seasonal best. Expedition scores close at season end and start fresh with the next season.
What Stays When a Season Ends?
Keep: your captain, lifetime stats and medals, Atlas chapters, banked fragments, unfinished maps, relics and salvage, island decorations and saved layout.
Start fresh: ships, season points, seasonal fleet-kill ranks and Expedition leaderboard scores. Buy a ship in the next active season to sail and earn again. Cosmetic collections do not increase your share of the ARMADA prize pool.
